Participation, performance and pledges – NW IAPT conference

On Friday we were busy at the Children and Young People’s IAPT North West conference in Manchester A conference celebrating the best in participation projects for young people involved in the Mental Health system. We spent the morning filming the various speakers, performances and presentations, before putting a film of the event together ready for the end of the day. We also hosted the ‘Pledge Tree’, brilliantly made for us by the Breightmet Men in Sheds project, which by the end of the day was covered in leaves, each leaf a pledge made by a participant to help improve participation within their services. The young people from Bolton’s Youth council and #Bekindtomymind campaign  were there, helping to lead the conference and present the film we made with them earlier in the year alongside a drama piece and an original rap track.

Was a great event and showed how effective getting young people involved in the design and delivery of CAMHS services can be.
